Religious Education

In RE we explore religious beliefs, values and practices and enable our pupils to make their own personal response to life, while respecting the beliefs and practices of other people.

We have a unique opportunity, as a Church School, of giving to each child an awareness and a lively experience of the Christian faith, a knowledge of the Bible and, in particular, the life of Jesus.

We aim to involve children in activities which encourage care and consideration for others; to foster children's appreciation of creation and to develop their natural curiosity about the world; to help children consider their response to the painful experiences which they may meet, such as fear, suffering and death, and to consider their personal response to moral issues; to give the children the experience and language which will help them to develop religious concepts, to express their own beliefs and ideas imaginatively and to listen to others.

The R.E. scheme of work is drawn from Diocesan guidelines with regard to the LEA agreed syllabus and determined by the school's Governing Body.
