Personal, Social, Health
Education (PSHE)
All our children learn about themselves, how their bodies work and
how to stay healthy, varying from teeth care to the harmful effects
of smoking and drugs. Sex education appropriate to the age and stage
of development of the child concerned is taught throughout school.
In the early years it looks at growth, development and feelings,
moving on to puberty, personal development and reproduction in Year
6, endorsing sensitivity to all cultures and religions.
We hope that our Health Education policy will support children
through their stages of physical and emotional development.
Similarly, programmes that teach children to keep themselves safe
from physical, emotional and sexual abuse are also used to help
children grow into happy, confident adults, capable of making
informed choices.
