Breaktime

Children leave the classroom at break time and go out onto the playground.

Water in school

A water cooler is freely available for children to frequently fill their own water bottle, which is then kept in the classroom for easy access.

Lunchtime

Children may have their midday meal at school, or may bring a packed lunch from home.

Dinner money should be brought on a MONDAY MORNING for all the week or part week. All money to be brought in an envelope or purse with the child's name, class and amount clearly marked. Cheques should be made payable to 'Sheffield City Council' and dinners can be paid for in advance half-termly and any credits carried over to the following term. If this method of payment suits you better, then please contact the school secretary.

Free school meals are available for any children whose parents receive Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based) or Child Tax Credit with NO Working Tax Credit. Please enquire at the school office for an application form.

There is only a very limited time allowed to school secretaries for school dinner administration and I urge you to decide half-termly upon dinners or sandwiches without switching between the two and thus minimising administrative support.

School dinners are provided by a contractor called 'Serviceteam' and are not the direct responsibility of the school. Two choices of menu are available daily. Classes rotate dining order to ensure fairness of choice and the opportunity for all.

Sandwich boxes are put into a large tray and taken to the dining hall at 9.05 a.m. by monitors to ensure safe keeping and prevent children returning to classrooms unsupervised at lunchtime.

Please ensure everything is clearly labelled.

Lunchtime is an extremely busy and efficiently run part of the day in which there is a lot of movement and play supervised by lunchtime supervisors and either the Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher. Children may go home for lunch at noon may we remind you that the crossing warden is not on duty at lunchtime to supervise road crossing.
